The MITX Interactive Awards is one of our most important and cherished traditions when we honor the best interactive practitioners in New England. It was 14 years ago, that a motley varied mix of technologists, creative types, business people, and some other folks who — frankly, we still have no clue where they came from, all got together and held our very first awards show to see who was doing the best work in this new thing called Interactive Media.
There were about 400 people on hand that night and 20 awards were given out in categories that included “Public Service Kiosk” and “Best Promotion Online Site”. It’s even funny to think that back then, I guess you had to say both “Online” AND “Site.”
In hindsight, it’s fair to say we were flying kind of blind.
Flash-forward to present time, and its amazing to see how far we have journeyed from brochure ware to blogs . . . from Cold Fusion to Flash . . . and from Alta Vista to Google . . . and it continues.
For a little nostalgia, I dusted off the 1996 Award Winners Roster. Recognize anyone??
