Quarter two of 2010 brought us some new members, and some old friends re-joined the MITX community and I'd like to invite you to welcome them along with me!

For those of us who browse the Internet for information every day, online education is probably not an unfamiliar concept. Although some people are no longer in school, most continue to consume information to better adapt to a rapidly changing work environment. Free tutorials, video classes, RSS subscriptions, and educational webinars are classic examples of online learning.

I serve on the Advisory Council for the Massachusetts It's all here Initiative, which is a public-private partnership created to more effectively market the state of Massachusetts. I'm really excited for their fall campaign geared towards students - The Stay here Initative.

FutureM planning is well on its way and the feedback we’ve received is exciting. If you haven't heard the buzz or read some of the great blog posts from supporters like Edward Boches, Brian Halligan or bostInnovation - then read on!

The MITX Membership base has grown like a pack of rabbits in Q2. Or maybe more like America’s “couch time” since Mad Men came back last month? Whatever metaphor you choose, you still see the high volume of new companies that have joined the ranks as MITX members, and multiplied our numbers by encouraging their employees to take advantage of the membership.

MITX is passionate about connecting our member companies with the next generation of leaders.

In this past quarter, we held our annual Career Combine, a half day event for educating and connecting students and recent grads with open opportunities in Boston.

We always like to take a moment to reflect and evaluate all that has happened over the past quarter.  For our evaluation, we use the following indicators:  Top Deals, Company Buzz Watch, and Job Trends.
